WhatsApp broadcast तो free है?
WhatsApp Business app vs Thaalo for restaurant offers
The free WhatsApp Business app is enough for a small list and personal chats. It gets harder when you want to reach everyone who ordered: broadcasts reach only people who saved your number, everyone gets the same message, and you never see who came back. Thaalo builds the list from orders and counts results. Many restaurants use both.

When the app is enough
If you know most of your regulars personally, chat with them one by one, and send an occasional update to a few dozen people who have your number saved, the WhatsApp Business app does the job and costs nothing. Keep using it for that.
Where broadcasts fall short
Broadcasts in the app are built for a list you keep by hand. For a restaurant that wants to reach every guest who ordered, a few limits show up.
- A broadcast reaches only guests who saved your number in their phone; everyone else never sees it
- Each broadcast list holds up to 256 contacts, so a bigger list means several lists kept by hand
- Everyone on a list gets the same message; there is no "quiet for 30 days" or "ordered biryani"
- A code you type into a broadcast gets forwarded to family groups, and you cannot tell who used it
- You never learn who came back because of the message
What Thaalo adds
Thaalo is built for sending offers to the guests who order from you.
- The list fills itself from orders. Nobody has to save anything.
- Pick who gets what: quiet guests, top spenders, guests who ordered a dish.
- Each guest can use the code once. Anyone else's uses are counted separately.
- Counted for you: sent, read, came back, billed.
- STOP handled automatically. Consent kept on record.
- Meta charges per message, billed to you: about ₹0.86 an offer before GST (July 2026).
Use both
Keep chatting with regulars in the app, answering questions and taking bookings the way you do now. Send offers through Thaalo, where the list fills itself and the results are counted. The two do different jobs.
WhatsApp changes the app's limits from time to time. We checked the ones above against WhatsApp's own help pages on the date in the sources.
Questions owners ask
Is the WhatsApp Business app free?
Yes. The app is free, including broadcasts. Offers through Thaalo use Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, which charges per message and bills the restaurant.
Why don't my broadcast messages reach everyone?
A broadcast from the app is delivered only to people who have saved your number in their phone's contacts. Guests who never saved it do not receive it.
Do I have to stop using the app to use Thaalo?
No. Keep the app for personal chats and use Thaalo for offers to the guests on your customer list.
